Stress Management

I am a member of the International Stress Management Association (ISMA) and I follow the ISMA code of practice. My aim is to prevent stress, to reduce it and to manage it by providing expert knowledge and practice with which to improve the quality of your life.

I offer a range of healthcare interventions, all of which are well established in healthcare clinics and all of which continue to become increasingly popular. One of the reasons that these interventions are quite so popular is because they are, in their own unique ways, particularly effective in reducing stress.

People experience stress in a variety of ways and will naturally benefit from different therapeutic treatments. Some interventions focus on physical wellbeing, for example tension headaches, RSI; some focus on mental wellbeing, for example negative or unrealistic thinking; and some on emotional wellbeing, for example anxiety and fear. Together, we choose the treatment or treatments best suited to your needs.

The physical interventions – swedish & deep tissue massage and aromatherapy massage, create a profound sense of peace, leaving you feeling completely relaxed and noticeably revived. All of these massage treatments ease emotional distress and facilitate the healing of stress related conditions.

The talking interventions, those that focus on mental and emotional well being, offer a range of diverse approaches. This is because our psychological needs vary so greatly. For example, counselling offers time and space in which to air concerns and to reflect, NLP helps set goals and the steps needed to achieve them, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) offers tools to achieve a more realistic and helpful attitude.

During treatment we work together as a team and I encourage you to take an active role in the stress management process. We explore how you feel and the causes of the stress. We define the goals you want to achieve and any changes that need to be made. I teach you the various tools and techniques that each intervention has to offer so that you can use them competently and independently in all areas of your life.

What my Client's say about me

  • From the moment you walk into the room you feel the warmth of Sarah’s personality. She is very good at assessing how to help you and does it with gentle steps. She has been an enormous help and encouragement to me as we have worked together on my phobia and OCD. I recommend her very highly indeed.

  • Over the years, in our sessions there were many tears, laughter and so many aha moments, where I had gradually began to see the light again, my wounded heart could open a little more and my mind could turn that corner, to see things a little differently.

  • Sarah helped me to stop smoking with hypnotherapy. I still see her from time to time for anxiety.
I am still a none smoker!

  • I came to Sarah for CBT. I’d been signed off from work and had some serious stress issues. Sarah listened and helped me to make sense of the confusion I was feeling. She also taught me ways to help myself. I feel strong and in control now.

  • I was unimaginably fortunate to have met Sarah after I had lost my mother to cancer. I was in excrutiating emotional pain. Swaying daily between anxiety, depression guilt, deep despair and insomnia. I really couldn’t see the light at the end of the tunnel, my world as I had known it had collapsed. On reflection I remember that I had almost crawled into Sarah’s room seeking some relief from my pain
