  • How I can help

Wellbeing

Sometimes we all need a little help and support. I’m an experienced Psychotherapist and massage therapist. Having worked in clinical practice for 15 years, I offer a wide range of therapeutic interventions each providing a unique approach with benefits. Some focus on psychological wellbeing and others on physical wellbeing and relaxation. You simply choose what you feel you most need.

Psychological Wellbeing

I am a practicing member of the National Register of Hypnotherapists and Psychotherapists (NRHP) and as such I am bound and accountable to the codes of ethics and practice laid down by these professional bodies.

I practice a number of therapeutic interventions designed to address a variety of mental and emotional needs. My aim is to enhance your psychological wellbeing and in turn your quality of life. I offer both short and long term therapy. The amount of sessions will depend on the condition(s) you present and the time you are able to devote to the therapeutic process. During our consultation we will discuss the issues that you are experiencing, what it is that you most want to achieve and any therapeutic preferences you may have.

We can work with any number of these disciplines. Which and how many will depend on your needs and preferences. I will encourage you to take an active role in the therapeutic process and where appropriate teach you helpful therapeutic tools and techniques. This approach maximises the benefits of intervention and allows you to develop your well being competently and independently outside of the sessions.

Proven areas of benefit include:

Physical Wellbeing

Mind and body are inseparable and our physical health is very important for our overall sense of wellbeing. Massage can bring both immediate relief and long term protection from many of the symptoms of distress. Reduction of these symptoms has been demonstrated to reduce overall stress levels and increase wellbeing. Swedish massage is a gentle technique and is used for pure relaxation although it has the ability to aid a range of conditions, such as headaches, insomnia and fatigue. Deep tissue massage works on the soft tissues of the body to help relieve muscular tension that can develop through physical and emotional stress. Various degrees of pressure and stretching movements are applied to areas of muscular tension and spasm to help alleviate discomfort and promote healing. Aromatherapy massage uses individually chosen and blended essential oils in combination with massage. It is a safe way to improve a variety of stress related conditions such as psoriasis, indigestion and migraine.

Proven areas of benefit include:
Anxiety and Stress
Arthritis and Rheumatism
Cellulite and Skin Tone
Depression
Digestive Disorders
Fluid Retention
Headache and Migraine
High Blood Pressure
Inflammation
Insomnia
Muscular Aches, Pains and Stiffness
Relaxation and Mental Clarity
Renewed Energy and Vitality

What my Client's say about me

  • From the moment you walk into the room you feel the warmth of Sarah’s personality. She is very good at assessing how to help you and does it with gentle steps. She has been an enormous help and encouragement to me as we have worked together on my phobia and OCD. I recommend her very highly indeed.

  • Over the years, in our sessions there were many tears, laughter and so many aha moments, where I had gradually began to see the light again, my wounded heart could open a little more and my mind could turn that corner, to see things a little differently.

  • Sarah helped me to stop smoking with hypnotherapy. I still see her from time to time for anxiety.
I am still a none smoker!

  • I came to Sarah for CBT. I’d been signed off from work and had some serious stress issues. Sarah listened and helped me to make sense of the confusion I was feeling. She also taught me ways to help myself. I feel strong and in control now.

  • I was unimaginably fortunate to have met Sarah after I had lost my mother to cancer. I was in excrutiating emotional pain. Swaying daily between anxiety, depression guilt, deep despair and insomnia. I really couldn’t see the light at the end of the tunnel, my world as I had known it had collapsed. On reflection I remember that I had almost crawled into Sarah’s room seeking some relief from my pain
